For powersports dealers

Closed Sunday. Closed Monday. The phone still rings.

When the floor is slammed or the doors are locked, Helmgrove texts missed callers on mobile numbers back within about a minute, in your store's words, and alerts your people with who called and whether it's a unit, service or parts.

The 7-Day Missed-Call Rescue for powersports dealers. Free for the first 3 businesses, in exchange for honest feedback and permission to share the real numbers. 3 of 3 spots open.

Want to see it first? Text me and I'll run a live test on my own phone while you watch.

“Hi, I'm looking at a used side-by-side. Can someone call me about it?”

Replied 6:16 PM

Example conversation. Fictional business. Not a real customer or result.

The problem

Saturday, three customers on the floor and one out on a test ride. The phone rings.

Nobody can grab it. Then come the days you're closed, and the web leads that land at 9 PM. Calls still come in when nobody's there to take them, and a shopper with a trailer and a free weekend doesn't always wait.

I worked a powersports sales floor. I know what a ringing phone with nobody free to answer it costs.

Helmgrove works alongside your website and CRM. It covers the phone and text gap beside them.

How it works

Three things happen when you miss a call.

  1. They call. You can't pick up.

They call while the floor's busy, or on a day you're closed. If nobody answers, the call forwards behind the scenes. Your number doesn't change.

  2. Mobile callers get a text within about a minute.

It's from your business, in your words, and it says it's automatic. It asks what they need.

  3. You get an alert.

Who called, what they need if they said, and how to reach them. You, your sales manager or whoever's on the floor calls back. A person always takes it from there.

What the caller gets

The texts your callers would get.

Written in your words and approved by you before anything goes live. Each one says who it's from and that it's automatic, and STOP works.

Example texts. Fictional businesses.

Missed call, business hours

Example Powersports (automatic text): Sorry we missed your call. The floor's busy right now. Are you asking about a unit, service or parts? Reply here and a person will follow up. Reply STOP to opt out.

Missed call, closed day

Example Powersports (automatic text): Thanks for calling. We're closed today. Reply with what you're looking for, and a person will get back to you when we open. Reply STOP to opt out.

Website lead, after hours (form with a text-permission box)

Example Powersports (automatic text): Got your request from our website. A person will reply when we open. Is there a time that's best to reach you? Reply STOP to opt out.

What it is notHelmgrove doesn't answer your phone, doesn't quote prices or trade values, and doesn't book appointments for you. It texts the caller, alerts you, and you take it from there.

The 7-day plan

Exactly what happens, day by day.

Your part, in short pieces: a setup call of about 15 minutes, about 15 minutes to read and approve your texts, a test call together on go-live day, and a 10-minute review on day 7. Helmgrove does the rest.

Carrier approval usually takes a few days and sometimes longer. It's outside my control, so the 7 days start when it clears. From the setup call to the day-7 review is usually about two weeks, sometimes longer.
  1. Day 0

    Setup call

We talk for about 15 minutes. You tell me how you answer the phone and what customers usually ask. I write the texts in your words, and you approve them. I file your texting registration with the carriers the same day, and you get the monthly price in writing. Have your business's legal name, address and EIN handy (the number on your tax paperwork). The carriers need them to register your texting number. No EIN? Tell me and we'll sort it out.

  2. Day 1

    Go live

Once the carriers approve, I switch on forwarding for unanswered calls. We make a test call together, and you watch the text and the alert land.

  3. Day 2

    First check

I read every missed call and every reply from day 1. If a text reads wrong, I fix it with your OK.

  4. Day 3

    After hours

Where your website form or message inbox allows it, after-hours inquiries get a reply too: by text if your form asks for permission to text, otherwise by email or in the same inbox.

  5. Day 4

    Midweek count

You get a short message with the count so far: missed calls, texts sent, replies.

  6. Day 5

    Tune up

I test it again from a different carrier and tighten anything that's slow or unclear.

  7. Day 6

    Weekend watch

I check that nights and weekends are covered, because that's when calls are most likely to go unanswered.

  8. Day 7

    Review

Ten minutes with the numbers. You decide yes or no. Nothing bills either way.

The weekly count

Your numbers

What are missed calls worth to you?

Put in your own numbers. This is your estimate, not a promise of results.

The calculator needs JavaScript. Count last week's missed calls in your phone's recent calls, then call or text and I'll work it out with you.

Starting numbers, not facts about your store. Change them to yours.

Your estimate

New-customer calls going unanswered each month

–

Gross on the deals you'd normally win, each month

–

What all of those callers were shopping for, each month

–

Your estimate from your own numbers. Not every caller would have hired you, which is why the win rate is in there, and Helmgrove doesn't promise sales. Nothing you type here is saved or sent.

Founding pilot

Founding pilot: 3 of 3 spots open

I can set up 3 by hand and watch them closely while it's new, and that's all I can do at one time. The 3 spots are shared across contractors, dealers and marinas.

The first 3 businesses get the 7-Day Missed-Call Rescue set up free. In exchange, I ask for three things: honest feedback, permission to share your real numbers (you approve exactly what's shared), and introductions to other owners if you're happy with it.

A testimonial is optional. If you give one, it's in your own words, good or bad, and you approve it before it's used. The free setup doesn't depend on what you say.

Before we start, you get the monthly price in writing. After day 7, nothing renews and nothing bills. If you say no, your business number stays yours, your contacts and message history are yours to export on request, and the scripts are yours too.

The guarantee

I guarantee the work, not your sales.

Pilot guarantee

Live, or I keep working free.

The 7-day clock starts the day the carriers approve your texting number. I file that registration the day we talk, and I tell you the day it clears. If missed calls from mobile numbers aren't getting a text back within about a minute by day 7, I keep working free until they are. If the carriers turn down your registration and we can't fix it, I'll tell you why and the pilot ends. You owe nothing.

I can't promise you more jobs, and anyone who does is guessing. I can promise your missed callers hear back.

Texts go to callers on mobile numbers, usually within about a minute. Delivery depends on the carriers.

Who's behind it

I worked the sales floor at a powersports dealership in Fresno, California. I know what a Saturday looks like, and I know a closed day isn't closed for the customer. I set this up the way a floor salesperson would want it: fast, short, and handed to a person.

Questions

What owners ask first.

We already use a texting platform.

Maybe it already does this. Test it: from your cell, call the store on a closed day, say Sunday afternoon, and let it ring out. If a text comes back within a minute and your people get an alert, keep it. You don't need me. If not, or if it's on but nobody wrote the wording, that's where I come in.

Does the lead go into my CRM?

Not on its own. The alert goes to whoever you pick, with the caller's number and what they asked about. Your person logs it like any other phone-up.

We have a phone tree with departments.

I check your phone setup before we start and tell you straight if it can't be done without changing your phone system.

What happens on a Sunday?

The text can say you're closed and when you open, and ask what they're after. I write that with you, and you approve it. Their answer waits in your alert until your people are back. Nothing pretends anyone is there.

What does it cost after the week?

I tell you the number before you agree to anything, and then I put it in writing before we start. It's one flat monthly price for your business, month to month, and it covers the texts, the lead alerts, the weekly count and the day-7 review. The written price lists exactly what it includes, including any provider or carrier fees, so nothing surprises you. If the number doesn't make sense for you, we stop there and it cost you nothing. Nothing bills without your yes.

Our website provider and CRM already handle leads.

Good. Keep them. Helmgrove doesn't replace your website or CRM. It catches the phone calls that ring out and the after-hours inquiries nobody answers until morning. Test yours first: call the store from a cell after hours and see what you get back.

I've been burned by a contract before. What are the terms?

Month to month. Cancel with a text. Nothing bills without your yes, and you get the price in writing before the pilot starts. Your business number stays yours. Your contacts and message history are yours to export on request. The scripts are yours too. The full terms are on the pilot page.

Can't I do this myself for the price of a phone plan?

Yes, and for some owners that's the right call. You'd register your number for business texting, write the replies, set up forwarding, test it on each carrier, and track the numbers. Helmgrove does all of that for you, and you try it for 7 days before paying anything.

Is this a robot talking to my customers?

Not a voice robot. One short automatic text, in your words and approved by you, and it says it's automatic. Then you or your people call back. It never quotes a price or promises a day.

What do I see on my phone, and how do I reply?

You get an alert with the caller's number and, if they wrote back, their own words. To answer, call or text them from your own phone, like you do now. On go-live day we make a test call together, and you watch the alert land. How the alerts reach you is set up with you on the setup call.

Will it quote prices, trade values or what's in stock?

Never. The text asks what they're after and tells them a person will follow up. Prices, trades, financing and availability come from your people.

My customers don't really text.

Then the text costs you nothing. You still get an alert with the caller's number within about a minute, so you can call back first. Seven days of numbers will show whether your callers reply.

I don't miss that many calls.

Check in two minutes: open your recent calls and count last week's missed ones. The pilot counts them for you. If it's close to zero, you don't need Helmgrove, and I'll tell you so.

Who's behind this? I've never heard of you.

Me, Jesse Martinez. I'm 19, and this business is new. My family's in construction, and I've worked a powersports sales floor and a marina. I'm doing the first 3 setups free, in exchange for honest feedback and permission to share the real numbers, so you can judge the result instead of my pitch. Want to see it first? Text me and I'll run a live test on my own phone while you watch.

Are you a registered, insured business?

The business is Helmgrove LLC. That is the name on the pilot terms, the SMS terms and the privacy policy. If you need to see something before you agree, ask me, and I'll tell you straight what I have and what I don't. What I'm responsible for, and what I'm not, is in plain words on the pilot page.

Do I have to change my number or my phone system?

Usually not. Your number stays. Unanswered calls forward behind the scenes, and I check how your carrier handles it before we start. The text comes from a local texting number set up for your business, and the first line is your business name.

Is this legal? Will my number get flagged as spam?

Helmgrove texts only people who just contacted you. Each text says who it's from and that it's automatic, and STOP works. I file your texting registration with the carriers before we start, which is what keeps business texts from being blocked. I'm not a lawyer, and the terms say so.

Will it text my staff, my vendors or my family?

Not if you tell me not to. On the setup call you give me the numbers that never get a text: staff, vendors, family. I read the replies in the first week and take off anything that shouldn't be there.

Are you local?

I'm based in Clarksville, Tennessee. Where I work: Clarksville, Nashville and Middle Tennessee in person; anywhere in the U.S. by phone. Outside Middle Tennessee, setup is done by phone: one call and a forwarding step. The texts go out whenever you miss a call, whatever time zone I'm in. My cell still has a Fresno area code from when I lived in California.

I need more leads, not faster replies.

Every lead you pay for or earn still has to get answered. The cheapest new job is the caller who already rang you and got voicemail. Start there. Once that's handled, getting more is a separate conversation.

What's the catch with free? What happens after the week?

For the first 3 businesses: honest feedback, permission to share your real numbers (you approve what's shared), and introductions if you're happy. After day 7, nothing renews and nothing bills. You already have the monthly price in writing. Say no and you keep everything.

Who owns the number, the contacts and the messages?

Your business number stays yours, always. Who holds the texting account, and how you take it with you if you leave, is written down before you agree to anything. Your contacts and message history are yours, and I'll export them for you on request. The scripts are yours too.

How much of my time does this take?

A setup call of about 15 minutes, about 15 minutes to read and approve your texts, a test call together on go-live day, and ten minutes on day 7. Helmgrove does the rest. For the carrier registration I also need your business's legal name, address and EIN.

What about callers on landlines or blocked numbers?

They can't receive texts, so they won't get one. You still get the alert with their number when it shows, so you can call them back.

Why doesn't it start tomorrow?

The carriers approve business texting before it goes live. I file it the day we talk and tell you the day it clears. Your 7 days start then. From the setup call to the day-7 review is usually about two weeks, sometimes longer, because the carriers take a few days to approve.

What if something breaks on a Friday night?

The texts run on their own, nights and weekends. If something looks off, text me and I'll reply within one business day. You can test it anytime with one call from your cell. Forwarding lives on your own phone account, so you can turn it off yourself if you ever need to, and I'll show you how at setup.

Does it use AI?

I use AI tools to help draft and build. The texts your customers get are fixed messages you approved. Nothing makes things up in a conversation with your customers.

Find out what your days off are costing you.

A 15-minute call to see if this fits. If it does, we set it up on a second short call. If it doesn't, I'll tell you.
